Bangladesh Business Chamber of Canada opens office

The Bangladesh Business Chamber of Canada (BBCC) office was inaugurated on Monday, November 14th. This modern office at 120 Newkirk Road in Richmond Hill was inaugurated by the Chief Patron of the Chamber, Bangladesh High Commissioner to Canada, Dr. Khalilur Rahman. The Honourable High Commissioner visited the office and expressed satisfaction. He said: “This chamber has always played an important role in the development of Canada-Bangladesh commercial relations. The new office will speed up the operations of the Chamber.”

A special function was organized to mark the inauguration of the office. The Bangladesh High Commissioner to Canada, Dr. Khalilur Rahman, was the chief guest of this event. Lutfar Rahman, Consul of Bangladesh in Toronto was present as a special guest. President of the Bangladesh Business Chamber of Canada and CEO of Premium Sweets, HM Iqbal presided. Mohammed Hasan, Director Admin of the Bangladesh Business Chamber Of Canada and CEO of Canada National Construction, moderated the event. Prominent businessman, Masud Siddiki, Can-Bangla TV CEO, Humayun Kabir, Notun Desh Editor-in-Chief, Shaogat Ali Sagar, CBN24 Editor, Mahbub Osmani and FBCCI Vice-President, Momen Murad gave welcome speeches. The speakers were highly appreciative of the activities of the Chamber.

NRB TV CEO, Shahidul Islam Mintu, prominent realtor Tapan Syed, Chamber Senior Vice President and Bangladesh Polymer Industries Chairman, Anowar Rashid and Vice President and Tim Hortons owner, Iqbal Roshd spoke on behalf of the Chamber’s directors in the main discussion. The directors elaborated on the future programs of the Chamber. He requested the cooperation of all present to advance the activities of the chamber.

Bangladesh Consul in Toronto, Lutfar Rahman, said: “we will continue all kinds of cooperation in furthering the activities of the chamber. The Chamber and the Consular Office will work together on various Canada-Bangladesh issues”.

Chamber President, HM Iqbal, said that the Chamber office will be considered as a hub for Bangladeshi and Canadian businessmen. He also said: “For the next two years we have plans to strengthen the Chamber. Now it’s time to implement them. Chamber membership is open. Those interested must contact.”

After dinner, popular musician, Amit Shuvra performed music.
