Celebrating Outstanding Leadership in Ontario’s Vital Chamber Community

During its Chairs Dinner and Awards Presentation on April 29, 2023, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) proudly honored outstanding chamber leaders at its 111th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Convention. This prestigious evening honored the outstanding accomplishments of community leaders who are bringing about meaningful change.

“The current year’s honor champs address the absolute best of Ontario’s imperative chamber local area. They have achieved success thanks to their persistence, inventiveness, and dedication. I would like to convey our sincere congratulations to each and every one of our award recipients on behalf of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce. “Rocco Rossi, President and CEO of OCC, said, “You are an inspiration to us all.”

Hydro One’s kind support made the Chairs Dinner and Awards possible. The following individuals have been selected as recipients of the OCC awards:

  • Burnie Gillespie Memorial Award: Shakiba Shayani, President and CEO, Guelph Chamber of Commerce
  • Chair’s Award for Innovative Program or Service: Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce
  • Richard Dolphin Community Service Award: Nathan Lawrence, Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce
  • James Gordon Carnegie Memorial Award: Greg Durocher, Cambridge Chamber of Commerce
  • Outstanding Advocacy Campaign Award: Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce

The OCC’s Annual General Meeting and Convention took place in Niagara Falls from April 27 to 29, 2023. The theme of the event was “Growing Together,” which exemplifies the Network’s focus on propelling the province’s economy forward.
