The Art Gallery of Mississauga (AGM), its leadership team, and staff are committed to ensuring that AGM is an inclusive organization and has diversity reflected in all aspects. Art Gallery of Mississauga has contracted The Regional Diversity Roundtable (RDR) to undertake a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Audit. AGM is making focused efforts on bringing art to Mississauga’s diverse community, employ innovative education, commence variegated art projects, and other forms of dialogue to advance critical inquiry and community connectivity to the visual arts. We engage, we create, we build.

This audit is being undertaken to further embrace inclusion, and remove any precedent-setting or existing diversity, and equity-related gaps at the AGM. This would serve a multifold purpose of strengthening the organization’s performance, enriching the working environment for employees and visitors, along with responding to growing community needs. This audit is an opportunity for AGM to develop an inclusive workplace culture, in which respect and positive recognition of differences are cultivated and enacted. It would further establish practices encompassing barrier-free experiences for individuals of varying identities and abilities.

Through this audit:

  • gaps will be identified and addressed
  • strategies developed to remove barriers
  • ensuring meaningful, consistent and measurable progress

AGM’s organizational capacity will be built through required policy development, training, recruitment, hiring, succession planning and retention changes. Further, programs and initiatives will be incorporated to enhance organizational learning from an anti-racist, anti-oppression, equity, diversity and inclusion framework.
