The four-day New York Bangla Book Fair is going to be held at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center from July 14 to July 17. Big event. This year, this book fair organized by Muktdhara Foundation will be 32 years old.
The numbers are surprising.
Every year there is a lot of excitement around this Bengali book fair in New York. The book fair has become a meeting place focusing on Bengali books. With the arrival of important Bengali language writers-artists-intellectuals from different parts of the world, New York became bright and vibrant. The green space and the large auditorium of the Jamaica Performing Arts Center are busy with culture-loving Bengali men and women and children from New York Jamaica and the surrounding area.
Many writers are present in this fair. Subodh Sarkar, Tridiv Chattopadhyay from West Bengal, Shahaduzzaman from UK, Alfred Khokon from Bangladesh and some others are among the invited guests at the fair. I am also going from Ottawa.
Also at this time Pritivajan Romen Raihan, Farooq Hossain, Birupaksh Pal, Bimal Guha, Sirajul Islam, Mustafa Majid and many others will participate in various events. I know this list is incomplete. The list could be longer.
Friends from New York, whom I have not seen for a long time, almost a year, are happy to see them again.
Friends, let’s spend four or four days of Rajni with non-stop laughter-comment-comment.
Let the book fair accumulate.
