Kings District RCMP investigating attempted armed robbery

Kings District RCMP is investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred at a convenience store on Hwy. 1 in Aylesford.

On September 24, 2022, at approximately 6:20 p.m., Kings District RCMP responded to a report of an attempted armed robbery that had just occurred at a convenience store on Hwy. 1 in Aylesford. RCMP officers learned that a man had walked into the store and displays, what is believed to be a handgun, to an employee. The man demanded money before the fleeing the store on foot. No money was obtained by the man during the attempted robbery and the employee was not injured.

RCMP officers secured the area and an RCMP Police Dog Service team attended the area to search for the man. The RCMP Police Dog Service team were supported by members of the Nova Scotia RCMP Emergency Response team during the search. The man was not located.

The man was wearing black clothing and a mask during the robbery. Witnesses outside the convenience store described him as a white man, with short black hair.
