The New Brunswick RCMP has arrested three people and seized numerous types of drugs as well as weapons, as part of a drug trafficking investigation in Moncton.
On July 15, 2022, members of the RCMP Provincial Crime Reduction Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Marsh Street in connection with the investigation. During the search, police seized quantities of what is believed to be fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, oxycodone, hydromorphone, shady 8 pills (known to contain fentanyl), and other unidentified pills. Police also seized two tasers with three cartridges, two pellet handguns, a prohibited weapon, and various ammunition.
A 43-year-old man, a 52-year-old man, and a 37-year-old woman, all from Moncton, were arrested at the scene.
On July 15, Wesley Lee Flanagan, Holly Alice Pellerin, and Andrew Donald Mackenzie appeared in Moncton Provincial Court by way of tele-remand. All three were remanded into custody, and returned to court on July 19.
Wesley Lee Flanagan is charged with:
- Four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, of fentanyl, benzimidazole, methamphetamine and oxycodone
- Three counts of possession of a weapon contrary to an order
- Two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon while prohibited
- Possession of a weapon in a vehicle
He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on July 25 at 1:30 p.m.
Holly Alice Pellerin is charged with:
- Four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, of fentanyl, benzimidazole, methamphetamine and oxycodone
- Two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon while prohibited
- Two counts of breach of conditions
She was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on July 25 at 1:30 p.m.
Andrew Donald Mackenzie is charged with:
- Possession of a prohibited weapon
- Two counts of possession of a weapon contrary to an order
- Possession of a prohibited weapon while prohibited
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Carrying a concealed weapon
He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on July 28 at 11 a.m.
The investigation is continuing.
The Provincial Crime Reduction Unit includes police officers from the New Brunswick RCMP and Fredericton Police Force. Members of the New Brunswick RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT), the Codiac Regional RCMP and the RCMP Police Dog Services assisted during the search and arrests. These efforts focus on disrupting and dismantling the trafficking of illegal drugs in our province, targeting those causing the most harm in our communities.
