Over 300 people attended the first Run for Chris event today at Joe Sams Leisure Park in Waterdown. Joe Sams Leisure Park is a place where Chris would often run. Friends and family say the event was meant to raise awareness, as well as highlight the life of the one they love.

Yesterday marked one year since Chris lost his battle with mental health and addiction at the age of 26. Along with being an avid runner, Chris also loved travelling and listening to music.

His friends say the number of people who came to the event, showed his impact on the community.

All proceeds from the run were donated to St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton Mental Health and Addiction clinic. This year Run for Chris raised over $45,000.
