Trade and Export Development Minister Jeremy Harrison stated, “These numbers are another example of how much people want to invest in Saskatchewan in the long term.” As a result of these investments, the province’s economy is strong and produces more jobs and opportunities.

When compared to February 2022 (seasonally adjusted), investment in building construction saw a 2.7% increase year over year.

In February 2023, a total of $356 million was invested in building construction.

This isn’t the main region where Saskatchewan has shown country driving development. When compared to the same period in the previous year, the province’s merchandise exports increased by a nation-leading 43.7 percent in the first two months of 2023. The most recent figures on the labor force indicate that there were 9,500 new jobs created in March 2023, up 1.7% from March 2022.
