“Whenever a Canadian decides to put their skills to use for the betterment of their community, our country is strengthened. Today, we honour the millions of hardworking Canadians who contribute their energy and passion in workplaces across our country.

“Over the years, Canadians have joined together to ensure that employees are treated fairly and that they are enabled to contribute their experience, ideas, and passions in the workplace. As we reflect on the incredible legacy of labour activists and those who fought to improve working conditions, we recognize that there is still work to be done to unlock our country’s full potential.

“Today, farmers and energy workers are suffering from Liberal policies that ignore the realities they are facing; workers in the travel and tourism sector have continued to struggle to reopen as the government has prolonged their unscientific travel mandates; and across the country, average, hardworking Canadians are watching as inflation and taxes take a bigger bite out of their paycheque every month.

“Canadians recognize that honesty, resourcefulness, and hard work ought to be rewarded. Conservatives will always stand up for the rights of workers in every sector of our economy and will continue to advocate for measures that safeguard Canadians’ earnings.”
